The Royal Oak Pork Pie Throwing Contest. Established in 1892. Records fiercely contested for over a century. A proper Gloucestershire institution. Almost entirely fictional.
The Royal Oak in Prestbury is real. The pub, the pie, the pint — all genuine. The 130-year sporting rivalry over who can hurl a pork pie furthest is, we'll confess, a recent invention — dreamed up, illustrated, and printed with the kind of deadpan seriousness usually reserved for actual village heritage.
This tee is part of Striped Circle and Dotty Cotton's 'Local Legends' collection — real villages, real pubs, entirely invented history, told without a flicker of a smile.
A proper conversation starter. Worn by people who will absolutely make you ask what a Pork Pie Throwing Contest is — and enjoy every second of explaining that it never happened.
Available in three colours: full colour back print on BLACK, FRENCH NAVY and WHITE, with a matching crest on the chest. The little blue dot is ours. You're welcome.
Free UK delivery on every order. No minimum. No fuss.
We only use the Stanley/Stella Creator 2.0 — 185gsm GOTS-certified organic cotton, combed and ring-spun for a surface that's smooth enough to do the design justice. Medium unisex fit with side seams, a wider collar rib, and set-in sleeves that stay where they're supposed to.
