About Us

Here's something we should probably address upfront. The name Dotty Cotton is a deliberate, unapologetic nod to Dot Cotton — EastEnders legend, moral compass of Albert Square, and arguably the greatest fictional advocate for strong tea and stronger principles British television has ever produced. We are not affiliated with EastEnders, the BBC, or the Cotton household. We just borrowed the spirit of the name: a little old-fashioned, a lot of integrity, much respected and absolutely no compromise on quality.

Oh, and more importantly, any printed graphic t-shirt is really nothing more than dotty cotton. Dots on cotton. You get the idea...

Dotty Cotton was created by the team behind Striped Circle Printworks. Sister brand. Same values, same obsession with quality and, of course, the same ridiculous humour.

For years, customers at Striped Circle asked us the same question: "Do you do this on a tee?"

Our answer, for a long time, was no. Not because we didn't want to - but because we weren't prepared to put our name on something ordinary. When you're obsessive about print quality, you notice very quickly that most graphic apparel is built to a price, not to a standard. Thin cotton, colours that fade, a fit that looks fine on the hanger and questionable on an actual human body. We'd spent years getting Striped Circle's print quality right. We weren't about to undo that reputation with a mediocre tee.

So we waited until we could do it properly.

The obsession, in our case, is the blank. We use the Stanley/Stella Creator 2.0 -185gsm organic cotton, GOTS certified, ethically produced, the blank of choice for independent labels and clothing brands who've done the research and refuse to compromise. It drapes properly. It holds its shape. It survives a washing machine. These things shouldn't need saying about a £27.99 tee. But here we are, saying them, because not enough brands bother.

Then comes the print. Kornit DTG - direct-to-garment printing at its most precise. Colours that stay true. Edges that stay sharp. The kind of print that still looks like the day it was made two years down the line.

The name? Dotty is British slang for charmingly unhinged in the best possible way. We are, without apology, dotty about what our clothing is made of.

Designed for music fans, football supporters, and anyone who's grown tired of wearing something disposable.
